About him
I'm hard to pigeon-hole partly because of my varied career background, extensive travel abroad, and partly because I'm very much my own person. But don't worry, I can be a team player too. I'm politically aware and sometimes I've been an activist and a campaigner. I've learned to rely on my instinct in most situations. I can be a little impatient and impulsive.
I love growing, cooking and eating food and drinking wine. I'm into nature, films, books, music and watching football. My politics and lifestyle are green, but non-conformist. Generally I try to live with a fairly light touch on the environment - with solar (and mains) electricity, composting toilet (don't ask!), and borehole water. With some help, I still grow organic fruit and veggies. I love travelling in Portugal and Spain (mostly by train), - seeing new places inspires my street photography.
I fully retired in 2013 - having for 13 years been a part-time board member of a successful consumer owned co-operative.
I've also worked in:-
organic/wholefood worker owned co-operatives in both retail and wholesale distribution;
social work/counselling and later, board member at a residential crisis centre for drug abusers;
for the first 10 years of my career I was a suit and tie, in various sales/marketing management roles, working for a major dairy company where I also studied for a diploma in management studies.
My outlook on life: I'm naturally a positive, fun loving open guy. I'm normally organised, down to earth, grounded and realistic. Like everyone, I make compromises and have some contradictions..........
Having lived on my own since 2015, I miss the intimacy of being a relationship and would now like to find a partner to share both the good and challenging times. There's plenty of life in this old dog.

I don't want to be too specific, but ideally I'm seeking sassy attractive 'young at heart' woman with charisma with whom I can share life's intimate moments, pleasures and challenges. Someone who is grounded but at the same time adventurous and willing take risks. Ideally, someone who loves travelling, vegetarian cooking and is environmentally aware. A strong sense of humour is, of course, mandatory.
