I'm a tall, shapely, intelligent,witty,pensive,interesting woman who loves walking- fab countryside in Yorkshire, pretty much fully recovered from hip replacement op Sept 2020,swimming, spicy food, classical & world music, radio 4, 3 & sometimes 2. Addicted to the Archers & tweetalong.Love "More or Less". TV:-Miranda Hart in her original series,"Have I got news for you!",Louis Theroux, Graham Norton, Jo Brand, Mrs America, Catastrophe.
Favourite film: Encounters at the End of the World- Werner Herzog.Also loved Lalaland- so it's soppy, so what. Brooklyn had me sobbing. 2 great animation films: Les Triplettes de Belleville & l'Illusionniste.
2 books that influenced me deeply:"Zen & the art of motorcycle maintenance" & "Alice in Wonderland/Thro' the Looking Glass"- ok so 3.
I like opera- pity it's so dear.The last one I went to was The Coronation of Poppea: Monteverdi.Fab music- story a bit weird.
My dislikes include rowdiness & noisy crowded places (ie 99% of all urban pubs)& dogs.
Can't help feeling anxious abt conflicts around the world: I donate my paltry sums to alleviate disasters when they occur- but mostly, like everyone else,I try to make sense of daily life as best I can,as cheerfully as possible.
I did enjoy singing in a world music accapella choir: my speaking voice has recovered well (tho' not 100%) after thyroidectomy Apr 2020 but still can't sing properly- dunno if I ever will be able to again.
